Sawtooth Avalanche Center

Thin weak layers aren't great candidates for PST/CPST. Out of curiosity, I performed these tests on top of depth hoar, below the crust. Avalanche and ECTs failed on 1-2mm FC on top of crust. Slope angle on bed surface ranged from 36-40*, slope quickly eased below.

There is a 2cm MFcr at 14-16cm from 11/17, not sure why it wouldn't let me add another layer here.

I collapsed this slope multiple times 10 days previous. This area collapsed twice before I dug.
