Dug pit in the not yet opened Maverick Mountain, better coverage than expected, soft slab on facets on a crust at this location propagated in ECTs. No collapsing with minor cracking right around skis or at switchbacks.

0.45" SWE in 4.5" new snow

Dug 2 other pits, higher and lower on the face, which showed similar structure and also had ECTX. HS in our three pits ranged 85-120cm.

In flank of avalanche that broke 1 week previous

Cracking was reported from nearby wind-loaded slopes. This specifically tested a non-wind-loaded slope.
