This snowpit DID NOT have depth hoar at the ground, the only pit I have dug this season without it. I think the slope avalanched in December.

Dug near snowpit that Alex and I dug January 8. Much stronger now.

Level 1 Pit Profile

Snowpack mostly facets. This slope had a wind slab that promoted propagation. Most slopes just weak, but no slab to make them unstable. Snowpack 500' higher was 110cm of mostly facets.
