Camas Creek

First time in Camas for the season. Overall, deeper and stronger snowpack than southern Bitterroot. Evidence of rounding in multiple layers. North aspects are still very suspect though over 30 degrees.

Saddle Mtn

Looking at snowpack structure on steeper southerly aspects. During travels, 25+ collapses on facet/crust combinations but no avalanching on it yet...

Chief Joseph

Dense fog, warm temperatures at start and 10 degree F drop in temp while in pit. Buried surface hoar layer less reactive than last week in ECTs but very reactive in PST tests today. Beginning of melt layer recrystallization at 86cm on damp snow from yesterday.
