Just getting a feel for early season conditions and working the bugs out of systems/gear. This slope was not steep enough to avalanche but was a similar aspect and elevation to nearby avalanche terrain.

After the first ectp on the ice/ faceted interface on a 17 degree slope we dug two more ect s within 50m area on approximately North facing aspect - one on an 18 degree slope with propagation upon block seperation, the other on a 10 degree slope with ectn 11 on the same layer.

I dug this pit to see snow depth and metamorphosis, not immediate stability.
