4 Lemon-Flags at 38 cm

This is a crown profile of a snowmobile triggered slide on March 7, 2018. The slide was triggered mid-slope likely from a shallow location and took out nearly the entire seasons snow pack.

No significant weak layers in upper 165 cm of snowpack. Interface at base of new storm layer shows gradual increase in density and bonding with underlying snow. Slightly softer snow 85 cm below surface may be buried NSF (rounding). DDL facets and crust very present at this location, 165 cm below surface. Skiing throughout the north-facing chute demonstrated a stable snowpack. Unclear if this shot may have slid on the Feb. 5 cycle.
