Shovel Tilt moderate, clean fracture on interface at 90cm.

1mm thick rain, M/F crust on most protected northerly aspects. Snow was deteriorating quickly due to temp and rain. Not enough snow to really make any turns.

Day started off sunny with clear skies but increased throughout the day along with wind gusts.

Started off at 1000 with a 2-3 CM crust on all aspects travelled, with thick, but 1mm, surface hoar on all aspects and elevations travelled. around 1100, Easterly aspects started to lose SH and crust melted. Under the crust is 20 cm (high end) of new snow, decomposing snow, and some sintering at the bottom. Largest concern currently is injury by trauma and what this snow will do for the rest of the winter.

Snow all seems to be bonding well to all other snow. Crust mid-snowpack is problem. unable to get anything to crack or trigger on test slopes with E/NE face.

Some soft wind slab developing around 8000’ on East aspects.
