Ran the sled above the pit wall several times. Nothing would crack which tells me it's hard to start a collapse in the weak layer. ECT results and recent avalanche activity tells me it's possible and when it does, the facets under the dust will propagate a crack really far.

Flank of a skier triggered avalanche that happened at approximately 1200. The avalanche fractured at 69 cm.

High very thin clouds.

Surprised by lack of activity in the area. Many slopes nearby well tested by sled and snow bike, with only small CF and Dry Loose activity observed.

Crown face at ridgetop and wind loaded which is why the layers are so hard. The faceted layer on which this failed was much softer and more evident in a pit lower and on an adjacent slope.

Extremely poor visibility. Unable to get eyes on many slopes.

Snowpack subjected to single digit temps for a week, and appears to have become weaker where shallow (<1m in depth)
