Snowpack isothermal, varied from moist to wet based upon structure. 10cm supportable crust from rain event on 22 March. Interesting to conduct tests on structured isothermal snow that has seen recent wet slab avalanching. Exhaustive pit analysis not conducted; more interested in comparing ECT and PST results for known culprit in many avalanches this late winter/early spring.
Very warm and moist. Snow surface damp even at upper elevations. Afternoon squall with rain, hail, strong SW wind, and a few minutes of heavy snow. Warmth in past few days and lack of freeze overnight causing shallow snow to be less stable.
