snowpit was adjacent to part large natural avalanche that occurred on 2-17-21

Deep and overall strong snowpack. Only avalanche issues are sluffing in the new snow especially on slopes that have a crust under the new snow.

Unseasonably warm spring day. Third in a row. Significant southerly winds last two days. Last snow on 03/04. 4"

Rounding DH layer is thick and ominous. Faceting process has stopped but size of grains and thickness of layer will keep this layer on our thoughts for many more weeks.
