Ski tails would wash out in faceted snow on turns and sink pretty deeply especiallt where rain crust was weak or not really apparent. Some localized cracking where there was a dusty wind board capping nsf under the fresh snow.
I was very surprised that the ECT did not break easier or propagate on the layer of old near surface facets at 105-95 cm. Signs on instability were not apparent above treeline. On shaded sheltered slopes below treeline we got widespread cracking.
strong east winds overnight, with hard, scoured conditions on the summit ridge, but some powder lower on east facing slopes. Dust-on-crust conditions mostly, with last week's tracks still visible.
