Feb. 18 dirt layer at 75 cm

Snow is generally more shallow and weaker than in the Central Bear River Range

Facets are very weak but nothing breaks in stability tests because there is no slab and no load. As you tap on your shovel the facets just crumble beneath it.

Appeared to be representative of area -

Pretty good stability. ~80 cm of new snow on mid February crusts

Dug in three places. This is the only one that produced an ECTP. Others have similar layers but must have been stronger. We dug at 9000ft on ENE and at 8800 ft on NNW. Neither spot even produced ECTN's under the dust layers. However, we spotted one natural avalanche and know of another in the area. The one we spotted seemed to be a similar depth as the weak layer in this pit.
