Looking at the snow remaining in paths that previously avalanched. This one was triggered on Jan 18th.

East of crown of 1/18/19 Oscar Mayer Avalanche, HS-N-O-d3 r3

Sinking into F-4F faceted snow to the ground in areas where snow is shallow (<2')

Only entering this pit to record HS with a lat/lon

Deep strong snowpack. Weakening at snow surface. Surface hoar noted in many places. Surface hoar is usually destroyed but the weather that forms it, also tends to form nsf's.

Sun and clouds in and out all day. Noted Wind Loading on East Facing Humpy Peak. Experienced a localized collapse early in the day.

Pit dug above convex roll in slope. All crusts cut in isolation... test results a bit inconsistent.

Gusty along ridge line, snow moving down in bowl.
