Profile taken on far east (looker's right) side of the avalanche crown. Very thin. Avalanche broke at 52 cm. Average crown height appeared to be 2-3 feet with one short section section in the cornice about 10 feet deep

For the ECT, we did not cut below the topmost ice crust at 253. I mainly wanted to assess the bonding between the new snow and that crust.

ECTN results in the top 2' of the snowpack. These will settle out over time. Overall ECTX with failure on faceted graupel layer above a pencil hard rounded grains with propagation x2 after ECTX with a hard shovel pry. I would be surprised if this layer was the culprit in further avalanches.

Amazing to find a southwest facing slope with this much dry snow and so few crusts at the end of March. HS was more than 465cm. I couldn't find the bottom with a 300cm probe. Propagation at 340cm after ECTX on the ice crust. I couldn't find signs of a major grain hand hardness change above the crust. Some ECTN's in the top 3' of the snow- not repeatable. Surface crust with NSF above is worth noting as we move forward.

Winds were moderate to strong NNE on ridgetops with active wind-loading on ridgetops. We were looking to see how the February PWL layer was reacting below treeline on north facings slopes. No propagation with ECT's at this site.
