Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center

This natural avalanche released yesterday. It was 400' wide x 400' long (estimated). Pit dug with Dave Zinn.

Deep and stable for early season. Good powder skiing. CPST 30/100 arr @ 83 cm's

Pit was dug with Ian Hoyer. We were surprised to get an ECTP. The layer is thin and will likely not last long.

Pit dug in large meadow away from trees; Thanksgiving crust has metamorphosed into a crust-facet-crust sandwich, aka turkey sandwich.
