HS > 400cm. Pit was dug 15m down slope from cornice line. Pit site on leeward face. Previous wind loading event possible.

Stability Tests: ECT x2 : Both test produced results via Progressive Compression (PC) Pit was dug on North facing aspect, large old growth tree 5m West of pit.

Avalanche occurred on 3/1/17 during control route (4lb hand charge). 110 cm crown. 28 Degree Alpha angle. Avalanche crown was at 11,800. Debris ran to 11,200. Previous SW storm wind loaded the Whale. 26" storm total. TP JM DZ
