Upper Silver Hollow

Myself and McKenyon were VERY bored in the 3K shack, so decided to do some digging. The new snow was fairly unconsolidated, and the top stellar were beginning to fragment from the wind. Wind deposits were frequent on this slope with varying levels of snow depth. Large layer of facets and (what appeared to be) depth hoar was very weak and composed a large section of the snowpack. Scary, weird ice/crust layer existed on the bottom.

Upper War Zone

Overall, the snowpack in this area was generally uniform. Weak sugary snow existed on top as the area was mostly shaded and protected of the warm sun the last few days, and well formed facets of varying size were found throughout. Two interesting layers of approximately pencil hardness were found relatively close together approximately mid way through the snowpack.
