north Barronette

Largest cornices I've seen atop this slope. Some were relatively sensitive/ fresh, as I was able to kick off some refrigerator sized blocks. Same day as a large snowmobile triggered avalanche, double fatality about 6 miles to the NE of snowpit location. Avalanche was on a wind loaded SE aspect around 10,000'.

9595' SE aspect

Had an unofficial ECTP40 at 25cms. Last night's snowfall seemed to come with a light easterly wind- and fill things in very well. Much of the new snow from last night was F- hardness. The winds were moderate from all directions today, and blowing the new snow around along the ridge lines.

west Woody Ridge

Adjacent slopes had significant wind effect from recent, moderate to strong SW winds. These wind affected slopes had surface wind slabs (generally 10-15cms thick), that would crack when ski cut. A similar snow structure and test results were found 5 meters higher. Snowpits with Gary K. and Nate W.

Pebble Creek

Snowpit location had some large white bark pines about 20' to the southwest, thus adding slightly more shade and wind protection to this SE aspect.
