Capitol Creek

Large whumpf with widespread shooting crack across the entire slope. The slope was on average 34 degrees but did not avalanche. Below treeline open slope. Pit was dug about 10 feet above where the whumpf was triggered. No snowpack tests were conducted as the layer of failure was easily identified as just below the buried surface hoar on the well-developed facets.
