Pit location was a little bit wind loaded but represents the widespread structure o NE aspects near treeline. Getting deep and stronger. Depth hoar sintering but still present. Lots of new snow. Main layer of concern is the old snow interface now buried 70 to 90cm where wind has drifted snow.

Upper Senator Beck

This test slope location is deep and may not be completelty representative of HS throughout the basin. It does provide a good example of a deep strong slab with old October snow continuing to strengthen and round. It would take a massive load to break this slab and create an avalanche.
