A splitboarder remotely triggered an avalanche while ascending near the spot where I dug this pit. I remotely triggered another D2 avalanche on an adjacent slope immediately after this pit.

Slightly wind exposed area.

Snow was 35-80cm at the deepest part of the whumpf crack. In the deeper part of the snowpack results were in the top 15cm. Crack stepped down to lower facets below the crust and seemed to be initiated in the shallower spot. Crack was 3m long.
