Test pit dug in near treeline terrain to specifically look at hard wind slab deposited over recent storm snow and older near surface face layer. 2mECTP-19 @ 111 cm and 2mECTN - 12 @ 120 cm.
Increasing winds and warm temperatures have destroyed some of the surface hoar in this area. NSF's are consistent on NW-N-NE aspects in the .5mm size range.
10 to 15cm storm snow in most areas with some wind loaded terrain up to 30cm deep. In the mid morning hours, winds switched to NW/N and were scouring previously wind loaded terrain. Winds tapered by mid day with increasing low level cloud cover.
