Carpenter Avalanche

Brandon triggered this avalanche remotely when he stepped off his skis while digging a pit on a low angle slope about 150 m away. He did an ECT at the trigger location before he stepped off his skis. It failed at the interface between the new and old snow (@ 67cm in this crown profile pit). ECTP 23. Coordinates: 39.41206, -120.31307

Lower Silver Peak

We did a Loaded PST. It was loaded with 10cm of snow and we let the snow sit for 60 minutes. It was 1F- when we came back. Results: +10cm Loaded PST 20/100 End on Dec 11 Facets at 37cm

Mt. Judah

Snowpit dug in below treeline terrain off of ridge. Minimal to no blowing snow with firm wind scoured snow surfaces in most areas.

Lincoln Ridge

Pit dug in open below treeline terrain, just below and out of near treeline wind effects. Dec 11 PWL appears to have gone dormant. PST and CT results indicate possible reactivation with future loading. Snow surface forms were a mix of graupel and 6mm SH fragments.

Slab Cliffs

Snowpit dug in near treeline terrain with some wind scouring in area. Dec 11 PWL gaining strength with no other signs of instability.
